    Class: Introduction to 3dprinting

    Games & Hobbies ·

    $30

Hello, Are you interested in 3d-printing and would like to get started? I am offering a hands-on, beginner-friendly 3D printing workshop. This workshop includes a 3d-printing print job via printables.com of a 'particular scale'. (As the 3dprinting filament is expensive and other 3dprinting jobs can take hours) Here is the outline for the course. 3dprinting Nano Course. Get started in 10 minutes or less. “3D Print Your First Object, starting in 10Minutes” Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours --- Course Outline 1. Quick Welcome + Safety (5 mins) Intro & what to expect Basic safety: hot parts, moving parts, don't put your hands in, never leave a 3d-printing job unattended!, ventilation --- 2. Let's 3dPrint! (10 to 15 mins) Choose from pre-loaded files via printables.com Load filament, prep bed, Slice the file using Prusa slicer, start print using OctoPrint (brief overview of OctoPrint) Instructor assists as needed --- 3. What’s Happening? (10 mins) Brief: How 3D printing works STL → G-code (Geometric code. Like CNC) → layers --- 4. Slice Demo (5 mins) Intro to slicer (e.g., PrusaSlicer) Change simple settings: infill, supports, filament type --- 5. Models & Design (15 mins) Where to find free files (Printables) Mention Tinkercad, Autodesk Fusion free version, Blender (This course is not going to cover design. But there are tons of resources for 3dprinting design on the web and also at your local library). --- 6. Troubleshooting Basics (10 to 15 mins) 6.a. Print not sticking? Spaghetti mess?, filament jam, x-axis belt is loose, bed calibration. 6.b: Basic printer care. Including how to wash the magnetic plate/ 3dprinting bed (Not while it's attached to the 3dprinter!) --- 7. Wrap-Up and TinkerCAD brief intro (10 mins) - Q&A - What folks are doing with 3dprinting (Housing, printing organs, healthcare innovations, manufacturing, jewelry, clothing, props etc) - TinkerCAD brief tutorial. Website, account creation (we won't go into this in detail as it's super easy to do), basic navigation, basic shapes, learning center on the website. This basic sub-tutorial should equip you to create your own designs. You can then export the designs to an .stl file and send the file to a slicer software. If your 3d-printer is compatible, you can (I think) also 3d-print directly from TinkerCAD. In any case, a brief sub-tutorial should get you up and running towards creating simpler set of designs in TinkerCAD. After an adequate amount of practice, you can move to Autodesk Fusion 360. - Introduction to Linux course (separate and not necessary for this course) Let me know if you want a version for online teaching or printable slides! Price will be the same. The 3dprinter that I have was purchased here on Karrot app! In person sessions at Mississauga. Near Wally's restaurant. Any questions, just let me know. The world needs your good innovations! 🔭🔬🌅👩🏻‍🎓👩🏾‍🎓🌱🏗️🏡 Thanks for your interest!
