VTG Wood Coal Scuttle Purdonium Box - Brass Hardware

Bring classic charm to your fireplace with this beautiful vintage wooden coal box, traditionally known as a purdonium. It does not include the inner lining. The scoop is included. Crafted from a rich hardwood with a deep reddish finish, this piece features gorgeous decorative brass straps, front accent hardware, and a solid top handle. Note, one missing brass ball hardware on tip of handle. The sloped front door swings down seamlessly to open up the storage compartment. While it was originally designed for coal, it makes a magnificent decorative accent or storage container. It is in good vintage structural condition for its age.
