Vintage Turtle Piggy Bank Japan
$50
Give your display shelves a massive dose of whimsical, technicolor nostalgia. This is an absolutely delightful, authentic 1970s vintage ceramic novelty coin bank imported directly from Japan.
Featuring a highly stylized turtle wearing a bright yellow Mexican sombrero hat and a big orange bow tie, this piece is pure retro storybook kitsch. The design is heavily inspired by the iconic "Big Eyes" art movements of the era, sporting soulful, expressive eyes, a cheeky grin, and vibrant flower power graphics across the green shell.
Flip it over, and you will find the original "JAPAN" factory stamp alongside its original black rubber coin stopper plug, still perfectly seated and flexible. The front display side is incredibly bright, clean, and high-gloss. Please note that there is one honest vintage flake chip located on the very back rim of the yellow sombrero hat as shown in the back side photo. It is completely hidden when displayed facing forward and does not take away from the incredible visual charm of this rare Japanese import.
• Condition: Great vintage condition. High-gloss finish is vibrant; includes the original rubber stopper. Note a single small chip on the back edge of the hat.
• Origin: Made in Japan (stamped on base).
• Era: 1970s.
