Vintage 1984 wall Art Sculpture – MCM Brutalist Metal Tree – Signed Canada Toronto artist East York $350 OBO Striking vintage signed and dated 1984 metal tree wall sculpture, with its original The Metal Gallery Ltd., 1917-B Avenue Road, Toronto label. Approx. 24" high x 20" wide. Dark patinated metal trunk with layered hammered brass/gold-toned foliage. Great texture, depth and movement — it catches the light beautifully. A fantastic statement piece that would look equally good on a clean white condo wall, with warm wood and transitional furniture, or adding some vintage character to a cottage. Very MCM / Brutalist / C. Jeré-era in feel, but unusual enough that you’re unlikely to see another one hanging in someone else’s place. The signature appears to read “Lew Mitchell ’84,” although I haven’t been able to confirm the artist independently.
