Vintage Bitossi Rimini Blu Ceramic Bull

Large Vintage Bitossi Rimini Blu Ceramic Bull. Large vintage Italian ceramic bull in the iconic Rimini Blu style, attributed to Bitossi Ceramiche and designed in the manner of Aldo Londi, circa 1960s–1970s. This sculptural piece features the classic deep turquoise / cobalt blue glaze with heavy texture and impressed geometric motifs (stars, dots, and grid patterns), hallmarks of the Rimini Blu line. The elongated, low-profile form is especially desirable and displays beautifully on shelves or consoles in Mid-Century Modern interiors. One small chip on the horn; it is not very noticeable but can be seen upon close inspection. The chip reveals a darker blue area where the glaze is thinner (see photos). No cracks or repairs. Glaze remains vibrant and intact. A striking and collectible example of Italian art pottery that works equally well as a decorative object or within a serious Mid-Century collection. - Please note not all Bitossi pieces are stamped, especially pieces from the 1960s–early 1970s. Many were only labeled with a paper “Raymor” import sticker (which often falls off) or marked with a small impressed number only and sometimes completely unmarked.
