Vintage Soviet Georgian Black Pottery Set (1970s/80s)

Authentic pair of vintage Soviet-era traditional Georgian black-smoked pottery. Hand-crafted using traditional reduction-firing methods rooted in Georgia, giving the clay its distinctive matte dark charcoal finish. Both pieces feature classic folk geometric accents, crosses, and dots hand-painted in red and white enamels on bird-like figures. A fantastic find for collectors of mid-century art pottery, Soviet memorabilia, or unique Eastern European decor. • Produced in the 1970s–1980s under the USSR Ministry of Culture. • Comes with the rare, surviving original paper merchandise registration tag from the Ministry of Culture of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic. • Both vessels feature matching hand-incised studio markings and matching white artisan identification dots painted on the unglazed bases • Excellent vintage condition.
